The Multiple Choice Ensemble

October 12    4 PM

This amorphous orchestra, directed by Rama Gottfried, is an exercise in spontaneous composition. Inspired by the likes of Butch Morris and Earle Brown, the group uses hand signals and improvisation to construct pieces. These inspired works sometimes resemble symphonies (in the not-so-romantic sense) or sometimes are merely short bites of music intended to jolt the audience into a different realm of existence for a split second. Either way, this ensemble of talented young musicians from all disciplines is dedicated to spinning the audience into its web of improvisatory adventure.
